Microneedling (collagen induction therapy) uses a medical-grade device to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production. It is highly effective for improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of acne scarring, minimising fine lines, tightening pores, and achieving overall skin rejuvenation. At OUR GP, treatments are clinically supervised throughout by our GP — not delegated to a beauty therapist. Best results Microneedling — Course of 3 Our recommended treatment course for optimal collagen stimulation. Three sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart delivers the best cumulative improvement in skin texture, tone, and radiance. Anyone can legally inject Botox or fillers without medical training. At OUR GP, your treatment is prescribed and administered by a GMC-registered doctor — and that makes a significant difference. The difference between GP-led aesthetics and a non-medical practitioner isn’t just about qualifications — it’s about what happens when something goes wrong, whether you are suitable for a treatment, and whether you’re being given honest advice or just what you want to hear. Our GP will decline to treat if a treatment is not right for you. That’s not a limitation — it’s the point. Prescription safety Botox is a prescription-only medicine. Our GP prescribes it after a proper medical consultation — assessing your health, medications, and suitability before any needle is used. Honest clinical assessment We will tell you honestly if we think a treatment isn’t right for you, or if a different approach would give a better result. That’s a medical obligation — not a sales conversation. Complication management Rare complications do occur. Our GP can recognise and manage vascular occlusion, infection, and other serious adverse events — something many non-medical practitioners cannot. Regulated & insured Our GP holds a GMC licence to practise, carries full medical indemnity insurance, and is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. You have full recourse if anything goes wrong. GP-led means medically safe All aesthetic treatments at OUR GP are performed by our GP — not a beautician or therapy-trained practitioner. A medical consultation is always included, and we will be honest if a treatment is not right for you. Your safety and long-term wellbeing come first. Book a consultation first Every treatment starts with a medical consultation. No pressure, no commitment — just an honest clinical assessment of what’s right for you. Choosing where to have aesthetic treatments is an important decision. We believe in transparency — about what treatments involve, what results to realistically expect, and what the risks are. If your question isn’t below, please contact us before booking. Do I need a consultation before my first treatment? Yes — always. A face-to-face medical consultation with our GP is required before any aesthetic treatment. Botox is a prescription-only medicine and cannot legally be administered without a prior medical consultation. Fillers and microneedling also require a consultation to assess your suitability, discuss your goals, and agree on a personalised treatment plan. The consultation is included in the new patient treatment price — there is no separate charge. What is the 2-week review and is it really included? Yes — the 2-week review is genuinely included in the new patient treatment price for Botox and fillers, at no extra charge. This appointment takes place approximately two weeks after your treatment when the product has fully settled and you can see your final result. It gives us the opportunity to assess the outcome, address any concerns, and make small adjustments if clinically appropriate. We include it as standard because we believe it’s the only responsible way to deliver these treatments. How long do results last? Botox results typically last 3–4 months. Dermal filler results vary by area — lips tend to last 6–9 months, while cheek and mid-face fillers often last 12–18 months. Microneedling results develop gradually over 4–6 weeks after each session, with cumulative improvement after a course of 3 treatments that can last 6–12 months. Individual results vary based on metabolism, lifestyle, and the specific product used. Are these treatments painful? Botox injections involve a very fine needle and most patients describe the sensation as a brief sharp sting — the procedure takes only a few minutes and discomfort is minimal. Filler injections involve a slightly larger needle or cannula, and a local anaesthetic cream or dental block can be used for lip treatments. Microneedling causes surface-level redness and mild discomfort during the procedure — a numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimise this. Let us know if you have concerns about pain and we will discuss options. What if I am not happy with my result? If you have concerns about your result, the first step is your included 2-week review appointment. Many concerns resolve or can be addressed at this stage. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are not satisfied with the outcome — this is an additional procedure. Botox results will naturally fade over 3–4 months. We will always discuss realistic outcomes before treatment so that expectations are aligned, and we will never proceed with a treatment we don’t believe will give you a natural, safe result. Are treatments confidential? Yes — completely. Aesthetic treatments at OUR GP are private and confidential. Nothing is shared with your NHS GP or anyone else without your explicit consent. Your records are held securely in our private medical records system. Many patients value the discretion of a medical setting over a high-street beauty clinic precisely because of this.
