At OUR GP, you can request any blood test you want — from a routine annual health check to a specific marker you’ve been curious about. Our GP will briefly review your request, confirm it’s appropriate, and arrange the test. If we think an alternative or additional test would be more useful, we’ll say so — but the decision is yours. No GP referral letter neededBook directly online or by phone. Every result is reviewed by your GP and sent with a clear, personalised explanation of what it means for your health.A blood test result is only useful if you understand what it means. NHS labs often return results with a simple “normal” or “abnormal” flag and no further context. At OUR GP, your GP reviews every marker, compares it in the context of your overall picture, and provides a written report that tells you not just what the number is — but what it means for you specifically, and what — if anything — you should do about it.Results in 2–5 working daysMost routine blood tests are returned within 2–5 working days of your appointment. Some specialist tests may take longer.Written report by emailYour results are sent securely by email with a GP-authored report explaining every marker in plain, jargon-free language.GP available to discussIf you have questions about your results, a follow-up telephone consultation can be arranged at a preferential rate for existing patients.Action plan if neededIf results require treatment, further investigation, or referral, your GP will advise on the most appropriate next steps including private referral if needed.Urgent or significantly abnormal resultsIf any result is significantly abnormal and requires prompt attention, our GP will contact you directly by phone rather than waiting for you to read the email report. We do not leave urgent results in an inbox. Results reviewed by your GPEvery result reviewed, explained, and reported. Not just a lab printout — a clinical interpretation written for you. Many of our patients are proactive, healthy adults who simply want to know where they stand — or who want results without the NHS wait.Anyone can benefit from private blood testing — whether you’re chasing a specific health concern, monitoring a known condition, checking up on your annual health benchmarks, or simply curious about what your body is doing. The common thread is wanting to know quickly, clearly, and without gatekeeping. NHS blood test access is improving but remains constrained — private testing removes those barriers entirely.People tired of waiting weeks for NHS blood test appointmentsThose whose NHS GP won’t request a specific test they wantPatients monitoring a chronic condition who want more frequent testingPeople experiencing fatigue, weight changes, or low mood without a diagnosisMen and women wanting an annual health benchmark (Well Man / Well Woman)Athletes or health-conscious individuals tracking performance markersPatients who want results explained by a GP — not just a lab reportThose who want their results kept off their NHS recordTourists or visitors who need a blood test while away from homeAnyone who simply wants to know — no justification required From £82 single test · no referralNo referral, no NHS gatekeeping. If your question isn’t answered below, please contact us before booking — we’re happy to advise. Do I need to fast before a blood test? It depends on the tests being carried out. For cholesterol (lipid profile), blood glucose, and HbA1c, an 8–10 hour fast is often recommended for the most accurate results. For most other tests, fasting is not required. We will confirm whether fasting is needed when you book and will include a reminder in your appointment confirmation. Do the prices include the laboratory fees and GP review? Yes — all prices listed on this page are all-inclusive. They cover the phlebotomy (blood draw), laboratory analysis by an accredited UK lab, and GP review and written report. There are no hidden fees for the lab or for receiving your results. The only potential additional cost is EMLA numbing cream if you request it, or a follow-up consultation if further discussion is needed. How will I receive my results? Results are sent securely by email once your GP has reviewed them. You will receive a written report rather than a raw lab printout — each marker is explained in plain language with context about what a normal or abnormal result might mean for you. If results are significantly abnormal or urgent, your GP will contact you by phone directly. Will my results be shared with my NHS GP? No — by default, your blood test results are private and are not shared with your NHS GP or anyone else. If you would like us to send a copy to your NHS GP or a specialist, we can do so at your request. Your results are stored securely in our private records system. Can I request a test that isn’t listed? Yes. We offer over 100 blood tests and can arrange virtually any clinically valid test through our accredited laboratory partners. If you cannot find a specific test in our list, please contact us by phone or WhatsApp and we will provide a personalised quotation. Can I have a blood test as part of a GP consultation? Yes — blood tests can be arranged as part of a face-to-face GP consultation, or independently as a standalone phlebotomy appointment. If you are having a consultation and your GP recommends blood tests, these can often be carried out at the same visit. The blood test fees are in addition to the consultation fee. I’m nervous about needles — can you help? Absolutely. Please let us know when you book that you are anxious about needles. Our phlebotomist is experienced in working with nervous patients and will take extra time and care. EMLA anaesthetic cream can be applied to numb the skin before the blood draw — this is a prescription product, so an additional small fee applies, but it is very effective. We also recommend staying well hydrated before your appointment as this makes the blood draw easier and more comfortable.
