Anyone can legally inject anti-wrinkle treatments or fillers without medical training. At OUR GP, your treatment is prescribed and administered by a GMC-registered doctor — and that makes a significant difference. The difference between GP-led aesthetics and a non-medical practitioner isn’t just about qualifications — it’s about what happens when something goes wrong, whether you are suitable for a treatment, and whether you’re being given honest advice or just what you want to hear. Our GP will decline to treat if a treatment is not right for you. That’s not a limitation — it’s the point. Prescription safetyAnti-wrinkle injections use a prescription-only medicine. Our GP prescribes it after a proper medical consultation — assessing your health, medications, and suitability before any needle is used. Honest clinical assessmentWe will tell you honestly if we think a treatment isn’t right for you, or if a different approach would give a better result. That’s a medical obligation — not a sales conversation. Complication managementRare complications do occur. Our GP can recognise and manage vascular occlusion, infection, and other serious adverse events — something many non-medical practitioners cannot. Regulated & insuredOur GP holds a GMC licence to practise, carries full medical indemnity insurance, and is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. You have full recourse if anything goes wrong. GP-led means medically safeAll aesthetic treatments at OUR GP are performed by our GP — not a beautician or therapy-trained practitioner. A medical consultation is always included, and we will be honest if a treatment is not right for you. Your safety and long-term wellbeing come first. Book a consultation firstEvery treatment starts with a medical consultation. No pressure, no commitment — just an honest clinical assessment of what’s right for you. If your question isn’t here, contact us and the GP will be happy to help. Will my lips look overdone? No. We use small amounts and build gradually. If you would like a little more, it can be discussed at your 2-week review. Does lip filler hurt? Most patients describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful. The filler contains a local anaesthetic, and numbing cream can be used beforehand. How long does lip filler last? Usually around 6–12 months, depending on your metabolism and the amount used. What is the 2-week review? Your result is checked two weeks after a new treatment, once swelling has settled. If a small adjustment is needed, we discuss it then. The review is included in the new-patient price. Can lip filler be reversed? Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the result or if there is a complication. From £170 lip fillerNew patients £180, returning patients £170.
