Your consultation

An honest medical assessment of your skin, and a clear plan.

Lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes are a normal part of ageing, but many people would like them to look softer. There are several ways to treat them, and the right one depends on your skin, your health and what you want.

At your consultation, the GP looks at your lines, takes a full medical history and talks through suitable options. If a treatment is not right for you, you will be told. You get a clear plan and price before anything is done.

Treatment of lines and wrinkles can involve prescription medicines, which must be prescribed by a qualified prescriber after a face-to-face consultation. At OUR GP, that is your GP.

What we can assess
  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Fine lines around the mouth
  • Skin texture and early ageing
Your safety

Why GP-led aesthetics matters

The UK aesthetics industry is largely unregulated. Anyone can legally inject anti-wrinkle treatments or fillers without medical training. At OUR GP, your treatment is prescribed and administered by a GMC-registered doctor — and that makes a significant difference.

The difference between GP-led aesthetics and a non-medical practitioner isn’t just about qualifications — it’s about what happens when something goes wrong, whether you are suitable for a treatment, and whether you’re being given honest advice or just what you want to hear. Our GP will decline to treat if a treatment is not right for you. That’s not a limitation — it’s the point.

Prescription safety

Anti-wrinkle injections use a prescription-only medicine. Our GP prescribes it after a proper medical consultation — assessing your health, medications, and suitability before any needle is used.

Honest clinical assessment

We will tell you honestly if we think a treatment isn’t right for you, or if a different approach would give a better result. That’s a medical obligation — not a sales conversation.

Complication management

Rare complications do occur. Our GP can recognise and manage vascular occlusion, infection, and other serious adverse events — something many non-medical practitioners cannot.

Regulated & insured

Our GP holds a GMC licence to practise, carries full medical indemnity insurance, and is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. You have full recourse if anything goes wrong.

GP-led means medically safe

All aesthetic treatments at OUR GP are performed by our GP — not a beautician or therapy-trained practitioner. A medical consultation is always included, and we will be honest if a treatment is not right for you. Your safety and long-term wellbeing come first.

That depends on the type of lines, your skin and your health. The GP will explain the options, including non-injectable ones such as microneedling.

No. The consultation is a medical assessment, not a sales appointment. You can take time to think, and the GP will tell you honestly if a treatment is not right for you.

Results usually last around 3–4 months. Everyone is a little different, and the GP will tell you what to expect for you at your consultation.

Your result is checked two weeks after a new treatment, once swelling has settled. If a small adjustment is needed, we discuss it then. The review is included in the new-patient price.

Yes. Aesthetic consultations are handled with the same confidentiality as any GP appointment.
